Matthew has been involved in media and sports business for over 25 years. He originally practised as a solicitor in Australia and England, specialising in media companies. He then moved into corporate finance, working in London at HSBC, Granville Baird and NatWest, with particular emphasis on media and growth companies.
In 1998, Matthew joined an interactive television company as Managing Director. He helped build up this business before selling it successfully in 2001.
Since then Matthew has combined roles as an entrepreneurial investor in, and advisor to, several media and sports businesses, predominantly UK based.
Matthew is a co-founding director of Palace Ventures Limited (PVL), a corporate finance advisory business focused on media and telecoms businesses in the UK and internationally. PVL has been instrumental in a number of SEIS and EIS investments. PVL is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Matthew is authorised by the FCA as a corporate financier and as the Compliance Officer of PVL.

Matthew is also a member of the Law Society, of the ICAEW Corporate Finance Faculty and of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI).
Matthew's role with Silver Lining Innovative Management includes ensuring that its activities are in accordance with investment regulations and overseeing the business from a commercial and legal perspective.
