MISCHLING: ‘Mischling’ follows the fictional story of ISAAC SCHNEIDER, a 35yr. old Austrian “Half Jew’ or “Mischling” who evades Nazi persecution by forging his documentation and enlisting himself in Hitler’s SS under the assumed name, RUDOLF BATZ.
Regarded as a traitor in the eyes of his Jewish family & friends, SCHNEIDER invents an evil persona to match his Nazi alter-ego and swiftly works his way up the ranks of the SS because of his notoriety. He uses this cover to prevent and control the mindless killings of Jews, save his family and find his fiancée who has disappeared. In an effort to discover the whereabouts of his ‘kidnapped’ Jewish fiancee, 28yr. old LEAH KAUFMAN and save his Jewish brethren, he murders countless Nazi peers and ultimately rescues his family from deportation to Auschwitz.
Aside from being a well-respected Professor of economics at the University of Vienna, SCHNEIDER also served for a short time, in his early twenties, in the German military and is a tactical mastermind and trained killer. He employs these skills to ‘dispatch’ various Nazis and cover up their murders, only just escaping detection at times. He is beyond suspicion because of his hated persona as one of the crueler SS officers who is so despicable and malicious that nobody would ever suspect he was capable of treachery, Unfortunately, at times this involves having to do terrible things. Upon enlisting in the SS as a lieutenant, SCHNEIDER (now Lieutenant BATZ) befriends an eager but confused young officer by the name of LUTZ MULLER.
SCHNEIDER recognises MULLER as a good kid who has unfortunately been brainwashed by Nazi propaganda. MULLER looks up to SCHNEIDER as a wise older brother, but ISAAC knows that if his true identity were to be revealed, MULLER would turn on him in a heartbeat.
Realizing he can’t succeed in his mission alone he decides to enlist the help of young, vengeful ERIK KAUFMAN (LEAH’S younger brother) who is leading an underground Jewish resistance group. “As many as 150,000 people of Jewish descent served under Adolf Hitler, some with the nazi leader’s explicit consent.” – Bryan Mark Rigg (American Military University)
Discovering that there are more ‘Mischling’s’ out there like themselves, ISAAC & ERIK form an alliance of Jewish and part Jewish soldiers posing as Aryans in Hitler’s army to infiltrate and destroy as many Nazi plots as possible, thus saving a greater number of Jews.
As the war goes on, ISAAC alias RUDOLF BATZ comes to the attention of senior Nazis officials because of his exploits and is quickly promoted within the Nazi ranks. However, as Hitler’s final solution begins to unfold, how long can SCHNEIDER keep up the charade? And at what cost?
Mischling follows in the vein of shows like HBO’s ‘Rome’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ in that we are dealing with fictional stories based on true accounts set in a very real historical setting i.e the holocaust. Just like the shows mentioned above, our fictional characters will at times interact with real historical figures in an accurate setting; e.g. Sigmund Freud, Chaim Rumkowski, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Oskar Schindler, Adolph Eichmann, and Rudolf Hess among others. This is designed to be a 50-55 minute weekly episodic drama and is extracted from various different true accounts from survivors. It delves in to the truly shocking Nazi agenda. It is extremely graphic and gory and will show scenes of a sexual nature.
Mischling & Film School
FILM SCHOOL: Film School follows an anxious but eager twenty-something film student named Liam as he enters a potentially life‐changing film contest (involving Award‐Winning Filmmaker Danny Boyle) for his school.
Usually an introvert keen on working alone, Liam must use all of his resources to gather a creative team that can bring his passion project to life and win the contest.
Through a series of hits & misses, Liam scours the school and all of its various departments (Sound Engineers, Editors, Actors etc.) and successfully reaches out to a rebellious director/rapscallion named Mossy whom Liam sees a unique vision in.
Film School shines a colorful/satirical light on both classic & modern Hollywood politics as well of the scruples of everyday collegiate life.
The setting is in a fictitious film institute in the city of London and is filled with students of all ages, from all parts of the world; giving the story a primarily British cast with the opportunity to throw an eclectic mix of characters into the mix.
The course of the first series will revolve around Liam’s involvement in the school’s film contest. It will start with gathering the team, then all of them meeting / clashing during the pre-production process.
Liam’s anxiety and self-consciousness are constant factors. They force him to make the tough decisions needed to accomplish his filmmaking endeavor yet, for comedy sake, often lead him down roads he would rather not travel.
The focus won’t be on the actual film itself (which will only be seen in glimpses & referenced in other episodes) but rather the team’s work once their cameras stop rolling.
Particularly during their post‐production period, Liam and his team will have to interact with various students specializing in different areas of film. All the while, Liam and the others will struggle to maintain their school and social obligations.
Liam, Mossy, and Michelle will deal with working together in close quarters for long hours at a time - leading to comedic and disastrous results.
Ultimately they will not win the contest, but through other situations developed during the making of their movie, Liam and the team will be situated (in various ways) towards getting their work seen by a large audience.
The show will be specifically designed to keep the latter half of the first series (once they lose the film festival) positioned to end as a possible stand-alone series or the beginning chapter of a continuing program extending past multiple series’.
